My mother passed away five years ago but one of the great pleasures I had was traveling with her.  She had such an interest in everything, especially different cultures.

She was particularly in tune with the needs of others.  An avid volunteer (60 hours a week at age 86), she wanted to know how other people lived and how they helped each other.

Her values made a tremendous impression on me and I have worked hard to pass them down to my own children.  And I know there was no better way to do that than when we travel together.  It’s hard now as they are immersed in their own families and work.  But every once and awhile we carve out time either in the U.S. or abroad to share an adventure in doing good.

I can’t wait until the grandchildren are old enough!
